AMERICAN LEAGUE AWARDS
AL MVP: Miguel Cabrera, Det.(First year in Detroit's potent lineup should yield huge numbers and a trip to the postseason)
AL Cy Young: Justin Verlander, Det. (Has improved over the last 2 years and could win 22 this year with that lineup behind him)
Rookie of the Year: Evan Longoria, Tam. (Will be called upon early in the season, and should be a full time starter after that)
Manager of the Year: John McClaren, Sea. ( Seattle is poised to break out with a big year this year and McClaren will be pushing all the buttons)
Comeback Player: Francisco Liriaino, Min. (After missing all of the '07 season recovering from TJ surgery, he should return to form in '08)

NATIONAL LEAGUE AWARDS
NL MVP: David Wright, NYM ( Look for his 4th full season to be his best yet: .320, 40-30 with 120+ rbi)
NL Cy Young: Johan Santana, NY (After winning 2 AL Cy Young awards, he figures to start collecting a few in the NL)
Rookie of the Year: Kosuke Fukudome, Chi. (31-year old Japanese import should have a solid year hitting in the middle of the Chicago Cubs lineup)
Manager of the Year: Joe Torre, LA (Could very well lead the Dodgers to the best record in the NL with all that pitching and young offense)
Comeback Player: Pedro Martinez, NY (If this spring is any indication, it looks like Martinez has found a second baseball life)

I wanted to know what has you thinking David Wright is good for UP TO 40 Homers!?!?! 30 okay, 35 would be against the odds, 40 would be unbelievable.

I like this because neither New York team or Boston was picked to go to the World Series.

I think Manny Parra has a pretty good chance of making it back-to-back Brewer ROYs. He's already in the rotation and will probably stay there all season. I expect about a 3.50 ERA from him, which isn't spectacular but it's good and he should add a bunch of strikeouts.

Well, even though I touched on it a little bit in our last post, I haven't really had a chance to get my thoughts out on the new Lincecum deal since he and the Giants agreed earlier in the week. Also, on the other end of things, the Giants missed out on shoring up their outfield by letting Cody Ross sign in Boston for only $3 million in 2012. First off, obviously, wanted to talk a bit about Lincecum. I've already said here that I didn't expect him to sign a long-term deal that takes him through free agency, but it doesn't mean he wants to leave San Francisco like everyone is suspecting. I mean, if I were Lincecum, I'd probably do the same thing, even if I planned on eventually signing with the Giants long-term. Why take a chance at mitigating your value to just sign a deal? SF Giants' 2024 season preview and predictions

 We've reached the finish line of spring training and it's time for the games to start mattering. The Giants are a much different team than the one we saw report to camp six weeks ago. Did they add enough over the winter and spring to catapult them into playoff contention? What are some keys to success this season? We'll get into all that and more in the 2024 season preview. A winter that started out a little slow and concerning for Giants' fans, really came into form in the spring and was capped beautifully by a Blake Snell signing just over a week before opening day. WORLD SERIES: Giants Move Up 2-0 on Texas

PreGame After taking game one in a surprising slug-fest , the Giants look to go up 2-0 on the Rangers in the World Series on Thursday night. The Giants are sending out Matt Cain, a guy who I'm sure every Giants' fan is pretty confident in. He'll be a opposed by C.J. Wilson, who's in his first year as a full-time starter, but has been brilliant in the role. He did struggle his last time out though, so hopefully the Giants can get to him early and get into his head a bit. I'm going to do something I've never done here on this unique occasion, and sort of do an in-game post. updating this post every time I feel I have something to add. So go Giants, and be sure to check back throughout the game, and after, to vent or whatever!
